The Orientation Seminar which is lead by a trained Holocaust Educator, sets the scene and prepares you for the actual visit to Auschwitz /Birkenau...
We will usually spend approximately 3 full days in Krakow. During these three days we will get to know Jewish Krakow, visit the camps and talk to a survivor.
The Follow-up Seminar which is also lead by a trained Holocaust Educator, allows students to reflect on their experience and the impact it had on them.
After the summer holidays, students will design and implement projects in their schools and communities aimed at sharing their experiences and disseminating the lessons they have learned.
The main difference between Learning from Auschwitz in Gibraltar and Lessons from Auschwitz in UK apart from the way it is funded, is that in UK students go on a day trip to Auschwitz/Birkenau whereas LFA Gibraltar organise a longer and more complete experience.
The Gibraltar Government Education Department wholeheartedly supports this project and facilitates our access to all Year 12 students in Westside School, Bayside School, College of Further Education and Prior Park.
Learning from Auschwitz is funded by Gibraltar Government and private donations from various Trusts, Corporations and personal sponsors, some of whom wish to remain anonymous.

Founder member of Learning from Auschwitz, Naomi resigned as JP in 2018, is also a qualified counselling therapist. She presently serves on the Gibraltar Prison Board. Naomi completed her service in the Gibraltar Police Authority in 2018. Naomi was appointed as a Member of the Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Registration Board in February 2023 and serves as a non-executive member on the Gibraltar Health Authority Board.

View DetailNicky Guerrero joined Learning From Auschwitz as a trustee in 2015. Nicky has enjoyed a 30-year career in the tourism and hospitality industry. He was Chief Executive` of the Gibraltar Tourist Board and is now an independent consultant. Nicky currently holds the post of Secretary General of MedCruise (the Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports) among other business interests. He is a commercial aviation enthusiast and is involved in amateur dramatics.
